How to Get to Kuakata
Kuakata can be accessed from Dhaka via both river and road routes. With the recent opening of the Padma Bridge, the journey from Dhaka to Kuakata has become significantly faster and more convenient.

Traveling to Kuakata by Bus from Dhaka

The distance between Dhaka (Gulisthan) and Kuakata is approximately 280 km, and the journey by bus usually takes around 6-7 hours. Numerous transportation companies operate buses directly to Kuakata from Syedabad, Abdullahpur, Arambagh, or Gabtali bus stands in Dhaka. The fare for non-AC buses ranges from Tk 750 to Tk 900, while for AC buses, it is Tk 1100 to Tk 1600.
Additionally, direct buses to Kuakata are available from cities outside Dhaka, such as Jessore, Khulna, Chittagong, Dinajpur etc. For online booking or ticket information, you can visit websites like:

Please note that direct bus services may have fixed schedules, and it might be inconvenient if your travel time doesn’t align with the bus schedule. In such cases, the most convenient option is to travel from Dhaka or your hometown to Barishal and then take a local bus to Kuakata.
There are only a few BRTC buses operating from the Barishal central bus terminal “Nathullabad” from morning to evening, with AC fare at Tk 350 and non-AC fare at Tk 250. From the regional bus terminal “Rupatali” in Barishal, buses to Kuakata depart every hour from morning until 7 pm, with a fare of Tk 270. Upon arrival at the Central Bus Terminal “Nathullabad” in Barishal, you can reach “Rupatali” by auto (approximately 7-8 minutes, fare 15 taka). The journey from Barishal to Kuakata takes about 3 hours for BRTC AC buses and 3.30-4.30 hours for non-AC and other local buses.

Traveling to Kuakata by Launch from Dhaka

While direct river travel from Sadarghat to Kuakata isn’t available, you can take a launch from Sadarghat to Barishal or Patuakhali and then proceed to Kuakata by bus. If you prefer a scenic launch journey, launches depart from Dhaka between 7-8 pm for Patuakhali and between 8.30-9 pm for Barishal. From Patuakhali bus terminal, buses to Kuakata depart every hour, with fares ranging from 150 to 200 taka.

Important Notice

Since the event begins early on Friday morning, it’s advisable to arrive in Kuakata the night before. Traveling at night to reach Kuakata early in the morning on event day might not be feasible. For those planning to depart from Dhaka after Thursday afternoon or after office hours, it’s recommended to travel directly from Dhaka to Barishal, which takes around 4-4.30 hours. Try to reach Barishal by 11-12 pm. As there are no buses from Barishal to Kuakata at night, arrangements will be made to transport you from Barishal around 12-12.30 am to ensure your participation. Please inform us (via Phone/Email/WhatsApp/Facebook) by Friday, February 24th, if you have such plans, to facilitate our assistance. You’ll need to bear the normal bus fare from Barishal to Kuakata or the applicable travel expenses in this case.
